กองพลทหารราบที่ 6 เล็งเห็นความเดือดร้อนของประชาชนในพื้นที่ที่ได้รับผลกระทบจากเหตุอุทกภัย
เมื่อวันที่ 15 ตุลาคม 2562 เวลา 0900 น. กองพันทหารราบที่ 1 กรมทหารราบที่ 6 ได้จัดชุดช่าง เข้าดำเนินการ ร่วมกับชุดช่างจิตอาสาในพื้นที่ ดำเนินการก่อสร้างบ้านเรือนของประชาชนที่ได้รับผลกระทบจากเหตุอุทกภัย โดยเน้นการดำเนินการร่วมกับส่วนราชการ และประชาชนในพื้นที่ สร้างบ้านหลังใหม่ให้กับ นางแพง แก้วบัวเคน ซึ่งอยู่บ้านเลขที่ 51 หมู่ที่ 12 บ้านท่าขอนไม้ยูง ตำบลบุ่งหวาย อำเภอวารินชำราบ จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี การดำเนินการสร้างบ้านในครั้งนี้ ได้รับนโยบายจาก ผู้บัญชาการกองพลทหารราบที่ 6 โดยให้ดำเนินการฟื้นฟู ช่วยเหลือประชาชนให้เต็มขีดความสามารถ สมดั่งคำที่ว่า ทหารเป็นที่พึ่งของประชาชนในทุกโอกาส
