วันที่ 24 พ.ย. 2564 เว็บไซต์กระทรวงการต่างประเทศสหรัฐฯ เผยแพร่รายชื่อชาติที่ถูกเชิญให้เข้าร่วมการประชุมสุดยอดด้านประชาธิปไตย ซึ่งรัฐบาลสหรัฐฯ กำหนดจัดขึ้นแบบออนไลน์ในวันที่ 910 ธ.ค. นี้ โดยจากการตรวจสอบของทีมข่าว workpointTODAY พบว่า มีอยู่ราว 110 ชาติปรากฎอยู่ในรายชื่อดังกล่าว

คณะกรรมการการเลือกตั้ง และอำนาจหน้าที่ | รู้ทันเลือกตั้งกับ กกต. ตอนที่ 1
ใกล้เข้ามาทุกขณะแล้วนะครับ กับการเลือกตั้งครั้งต่อไป ก่อนที่จะถึงวันเลือกตั้ง เรามาทำความรู้จักกับผู้ที่เป็นคนจัดการเลือกตั้งกัน นั่นคือ กกต
กกต ย่อมาจาก คณะกรรมการการเลือกตั้ง เป็นองค์กรอิสระที่ทำหน้าที่และใช้อำนาจอย่างเที่ยงธรรม กล้าหาญ และปราศจากอคติ
กกต ไม่ใช่เพียงดำเนินการจัดการเลือกตั้ง เพียงเท่านั้น แต่ยังควบคุมการเลือกตั้งให้เป็นไปโดยสุจริตและเที่ยงธรรม สามารถสืบสวน การกระทำที่น่าสงสัยว่าการเลือกตั้งไม่สุจริต และยับยั้ง แก้ไข หรือยกเลิกการเลือกตั้งที่ไม่บริสุทธิ์ ได้อีกด้วย
นอกจากนี้ กกต ยังมีหน้าที่อีกหลายอย่าง ทั้งการดูแลพรรคการเมือง รวมถึงการให้ความรู้ที่ถูกต้องแก่ประชาชน เกี่ยวกับการปกครองระบอบประชาธิปไตยอันมีพระมหากษัตริย์ทรงเป็นประมุข
การสรรหาคณะกรรมการนั้นมีความเข้มงวดอย่างมาก ปัจจุบันมีคณะกรรมการทั้งหมด 7 คน 5 คน มาจากการสรรหา และอีก 2 คน มาจากการคัดเลือกของที่ประชุมใหญ่ศาลฎีกา มีวาระทำงานคราวละ 7 ปี
