Most 12yearolds love playing videogames Thomas Suarez taught himself how to create them. After developing iPhone apps like \”Bustin Jeiber,\” a whackamole game, he is now using his skills to help other kids become developers. (Filmed at TEDxManhattanBeach.)

Digital transformation: are you ready for exponential change? Futurist Keynote Speaker Gerd Leonhard
Business as usual is dead. Increasingly, science fiction is becoming science fact. Exponential technologies are rapidly changing our lives and societies, every day, everywhere. We will need different skills, and we will need to get much better at driving change or we will be driven by it. Most importantly, we should embrace technology but not become it. Anything that can be digitized or automated, will be and anything that cannot be digitized or automated will become extremely valuable. Lastly, we must go beyond technology to define real human values in this new digital ecosystem.

Digital Technologies – what are they for?
This animation is designed to help teachers to tune into the grand narrative of Australian Curriculum: Technologies.
There are two subjects in the Technologies Learning area: Digital Technologies and Design and Technologies.
Please note the introduction in each animation is the same for both subjects, recognising that they are linked, however each animation further describes the unique characteristics of each subject specifically.
Both animations attempt to describe the essence of the learning area as it applies to each subject and as a student moves through their schooling from R10.
