Linus: Starting with the one youre probably most familiar with…
Me: ..U.
Linus: K
Me: Yes K..K it is.
what about when there is no alphabet what that means?
Amd
X
Xt
Wx
G
U
Intel some what make some sence but amd ?
What F stands for in Core i5 10400F
HQ stands for Head Quartets (Intel)
All these letters have changed again. This video needs an update.
K-consumer unlocked
F- No integrated graphics
T-Low power desktop
H- High performance mobile CPU(11th gen or later)
G- High performance mobile iGPU
U- Low power mobile.
Intel is litteraly gatekeeping
my cpu
Got i7-4th gen MQ
G means it has a discrete GPU in the package, although G1-G7 means it has new integrated graphics technology.
2:25 lol I have always thought that it means high quality until this video. By the way thanks for the explanation 🙂
You forgot F, just saying.. what does the cpu have extra respect?
K then
I absolutely love the way this guy throws around hand/arm motions. They say 90% of communication is body language, this guy kicks that up to 99.9%.
This reminds me alot of Smith & wesson handguns, they have a similar naming system
What is the advantage and disavantage between using i7 9700K and the i7 9700KF. Which is one is better for gaming and mulitaskimg/ video editing?
3years ago f doesn't come out yet XD
I have Core i5 10210U
Bruh i have an i5 9300HF tf that mean
I should have listen to my computer teacher in my school😶
F: Am I a joke to you?
Wath is kf?
How about pentium G2030
I'm not sure why anyone would want to "overclock" during gameplay, you'll just risk over-heating your CPU and Graphic's Card until they're both damaged and no longer usable.
m was used in non xeon cpus too, i had an Intel core i3-380M
Yeaaaaaah i'll just stick with amd
And I thought IUPAC naming was difficult
What is best K or KF?
u dint say F
The G processor was not clear can U explain it by just replying here in the comments
Wher îs s
You didn't mention F as in Intel Core i5-10400F so you get an F as in FAIL!
F ? MENING ?
You forgot F and KF and HF lol
This is what I needed
Hey linus u forget the letter F
4:09 wow is aged really badly
Was here
I wonder if there's a UYKE CPU out there. Or maybe YKUE, UKEY, etc. Or a UEYK.
No, U does not stand for unhackable. Nor does anything else.
Everything is hackable.
Thank you so much for this explanation of part of their chip naming.
Intel Chip Naming is a Big Box of Tangled String
Intel has different Cores i3, i5, i7, i9, and Xeon.
Each one of those has at least 10 different versions of it.
They use a bunch of 5 digit numbers that are not always in order.
They have like 11 different "Architectures", roughly one per year.
Each Architecture has its own name.
All of the architectures either look similar or sound similar, like Lake, or Coffee, or Skylake, or Bridge, on and on.
There are like 11 "Generations".
There are varying number of Cores, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 etc
Some of the chips are for Desktop, some for Mobile, some are Embedded.
Each and every dimension that I've listed so far, can be intermixed, intermingled, intertwined with every other dimension I've listed so far.
Plus there's a lot of factors that I haven't mentioned.
Wikipedia has a ton of information, but it's like jumping into the ocean and trying to write down the names of all the fish you see.
Intel has a lot of lists on its website too.
I've copied dozens of files, I've created 5 subdirectories, ~30 files, and many many hyperlinks connecting those files together.
I have been working for 4 to 10 hours per session, for at least 3 sessions trying to figure all of this stuff out.
I think that Intel is intentionally trying obfuscate/confuse/befuddle the outsiders, so that they cannot make an intelligent decision, and instead just have to rely on the marketing hype.
THIS IS RIDICULOUS !!!!!!
They should name their Chips as follows: Year, Month, Day, # of Cores, Base Clock Speed, Architecture, Familiar name.
Then they should have an easy-to-access webpage where people can look up all of the detailed information about that chip from their website.
Examples (made-up):
Intel 2021.04.08, 8 Core, 3.8 MHz, Cypress Cove, Invigerator, or
Intel 2020.11.05, 6 Core, 3.4 MHz, Comet Lake, Leveller Upper, or
Intel 2017.06.23, 4 Core, 2.9 MHz, Kaby Lake, Monster Killer, or whatever
but what about M HQ and another intel processors
