Check out my NEWEST video: https://goo.gl/E0eE6m
I decided to do the 80/20 principle and save hours of time by watching this video over reading the book.
Im a janitor though. So would these procedures work for me? Because i really want to look into this book.
Wow! Nice one.
My biggest takeaway is…
Massive action without defining the objectives is Laziness.
Learnt to have clarity before jumping in.
Thanks,
Vijay
Elimination and Hourly rate
Tim Ferriss, thank you for changing my life
Love his way of thinking. Absolutely true
Doing the maths, it just makes sense, time is the most valuable commodity there is! ⏳
Is the 4$/hr thing ethical?
I need a mentor. I need to find the helpers in the world
Nice video Even, I appreciate sharing your 4-hour-work-week in depths explanation. Any opinion on digital real estate? Basically building and banking websites that generate leads for local businesses. Went thru Ippei Kanehara's program a year ago, now I've got 11 creating about 5500 coming in each month. My best site is a remodel site in Dallas, brings me 1,500 by itself.
Boy you look really different Evan 🙂 It is neat to see you back in the day. Glad you are still getting us to belive!!!
I have the book on my night stand! I’m fourteen and already on page 26 I think, the cover feels so nice and smooth, it’s cool I can come here and talk about the book.
Ferris bueller's day off
I'm thinking all the same thoughts and hating to whore my time for pennies on a dime for 8 hours a day. But I can't seem to grasp how a blue collar worker is able to implement any of these tips. So this isn't a solution for all, just for the few… Or did I miss something.. 🤔
excellent work keep it up
I work in construction building buildings.
Who can I pay to take over my work?
Tim is scary smart.
Another terrific and inspiring compilation Evan. Thanks. I read 4-Hour Work Week when it came out. It's life changing, but it didn't turn me into Tim Ferriss, instead what it did was hone my own thinking, ways of looking at things and long term goals. It's a great resource. I've read it at least twice.
I used to wonder just how many people who read 4-Hour Work Week actually did what the book taught? Now I wonder how of all the people who could've done it, but didn't
what do they need to breakthrough? 2007 I read the book. So that means: it influenced my 2009 travels in China for 7 weeks, just knocking around, went wherever, some plansbut no limits. Amazing trip. I'd already traveled like this but this time I thought I'll do it for longer. There were no limits. 2016 I went to Japan for two months. You can have it all, especially if you are prepared for, not afraid of and can embrace sleeping outside a train station. I camped, stayed in hostels, stayed in ryokan, stayed in 4 start hotels. In 2018 I traveled all over the UK, Ireland and France for three months – that started to feel like a job. Now I think do two 3-4 week trips or, I might move there for 3-4 months, but I'd have at least 2-3 bases, not a different place almost every night. All this grew out of Feriss' book. (and I was making money all the time. As a teacher, two months paid summer, and as an investor)I think Ferriss' thinking dove tails and is essential to the FIRE movement (Financial Independence Retire Early. If you don't know Ferriss but you know FIRE, read Ferriss. I was retired for almost three years; but I'm now making so much from my investments that – when it counts- I no longer say I'm retired. I still stick to the 4-hour work week, though I have to confess I waste a lot of time. But no one tells me how_they_ want me to waste my time.
Decreasing the number of inputs and increasing the number of outputs. Boiled down this is spend less of your time working, wasting it (the emails thing), and increase the time and money you have to do the things that you prefer doing and enjoy doing. (and no, living in your mom's basement playing video games is not that. ) You've got to have challenges and engagement. I recently focused on my investing to make sure everything was what I understood it to be. Took some time, research, but not too difficult. Interesting but not fully engaging. To paraphrase from Citizen Kane, "It's not that hard to be a rich idiot, if all you really want is to be a rich idiot." When you think you're taking to one, there are likely two things going on, the first is, you're jealous (of course you hate the guy) but second, they probably are just a rich idiot. (Depends on where they got their money. Inherited wealthy usually lowers IQ points, also mono-focus, being the dry cleaner king of a county…. might've once been an enriching talent, it might no longer be. If you have a lot of money and there's nothing in your head? A life is being wasted. Learning is the most amazing thing we can do.)
Best supportive practices? Exercise, run, cycle, swim, paddle hard. But don't be a gym rat. Meditate. Read, read a lot, read what you think you should read. Read the books that are hard. Don't be afraid, especially self-help books like 4-Hour Work Week, to stop reading the ones that seem like junk. There are a lot of 250 page self-help books that have 10 pages of information in them. Listen to audiobooks, during a 5 hour bike ride or a 4 hour paddle. Challenge yourself. I spent 30 years trying to read Virginia Woolf and Jane Austen. Whatever block I had just got in the way. I finally got through it. Worth the effort. Read Nassim Nicholas Taleb, read the stoics. Bottomline of the stoics is "I've already won" and "I will not waste another second worrying about meaningless things." You want to be an investor? There are lots of books, highly recommended books – that are pure garbage. I read everything about and by Warren Buffett. Why not learn from the guy who's made the most money? (well he's given a lot away and others have now made more). Get started. When Shaq came back from basketball camp he said, "Grandma some of those guys were better than me." She said, "How many lives do you have?" Get started. Evan is here to help!
(My favorite is his J.K. Rowling 10 things, and then her dismissing it. Evan was hurt and bothered. Evan, brother, be more stoic. Have a good laugh and then to your Rowling video add #11 These lists are stupid. Are they? We don't think so but someone we respect does…. it's all information. Live your best life!
Focus on your strengths
He looks like Steve-o.
in the best-selling book from 2007. – The 4 hour Work Week! And I ask you, have you ever met or even heard of a
person who achieved super success that followed this regimen? WTF! Anyone? And I am told that the author
works more than 4 hours a week! Are you all stupid or just utterly naive? Or as a saying that is often credited to
PT Barnum, the great carnival circus barker – “there is a sucker born every minute!”
Evan…are you Canadian? Nice Jay's hat! Hope we can get a season in this year somehow.
Pay someone more than you make per hour for a day, and if you can be free of an externally mandated schedule, you get a full extra day off per week for the price of dinner in many first-world cities. Mind boggling concept.
Now to work on getting rid of pesky rigid schedules, define specific tasks, and make up for extra revenue!
But if Tim didn’t work all those long strenuous hours would if have come up with the 4 hour workout then explode into what he is now? Don’t you think we all need to experience what hard work really is all about (even if it takes years.) I don’t believe we should be given shortcuts in life. The beauty in life is about the journey, not the destination. Do I think he has great points, absolutely. But I also believe you need to be an “apprentice” before you become a “journeyman.”
Good information…
COMPETENCE, STATUS, AND POWER = SEROTONIN.
Awsome!
Tune down the background music or sound. Can't understand what you're exactly saying.
Income has no real value without time. Outsource and stop checking my phone too much.
Where did you source/find your VA's? I need help!
Great video thank you Evan
To me best lesson from the video is to work on either profitable or enjoyable things.
I really like how he kept emphasising against the commonly known phrase "Time is money" to "Time is more important than money"
Evan Love you 3000
For working hard and Compiling AWESOME Wisdom 🙂
it Saved my time along with I got Gr8 Value addition in my life.
thanks Evan!
Thanks. This is like an advanced Pomodoro Technique.
This does not apply to Elon Musk though, hehe.
God bless, Proverbs 31
Outsourcing was really interesting. At face value it seems you're losing money but if you keep the big picture in mind, you're actually gaining money and time
Brilliant video, have not read the book for ages think its about time I revisted it.
Information addiction, an ai would say it's life
Increase quality value output
Excellent
It is really great. simple things we need to stick to the 80 :20 which covers every thing
value your time
Be productive is what it meant to me
This is amazing idee man! Thanks
I've read the book several times, and almost every time I see him I learn or remember something. Today's lesson: Measure in terms of TIME CURRENCY. I actually write that note in my phone's "notes" section, along with scheduled times to read & respond to email. Great video!!
Thanks Evan for sharing the book, I love
