  3. Incorrect information. WIFI N (2.4 GHZ) has double the range and penetration over WIFI AC (which only operates on the 5Ghz spectrum). Lower the frequency greater the spread of signal, and penetration through objects such as walls, cars, people etc. It's important to note that the WIFI N 2.4Ghz spectrum can actually be quicker than the 5Ghz AC WIFI due to Link Speed. Link speed is the fastest speed possible based on several variables. Things like obstructions, other wifi devices transmitting, distance from the router , and number of radios on the router and the PC adapter to name a few. WIFI N like AC support MIMO (the use of multiple antennas at the router and the pc to "stack" and speed up) . If I took a 2.4 Ghz WIFI N using 3X3 MIMO (three radios on the pc and 3 on the router) my max speed would be 450Mbits. If I took that same PC and router on the 5 Ghz AC WIFI using 1 antenna setup which is the norm, my max speed would be 433 Mbit/s. Now, the problem lies in the fact you will rarely get the max link speed due to factors mentioned above. The most impacting variable is distance and penetration. Since 2.4Ghz has the 5Ghz beat in that area if I was getting 3 out of 6 bars of signal in a 2.4Ghz network my link speed may be around 180-200 MBits, if I was to take that same setup but use the 5Ghz AC spectrum the "throw" of the signal will be half of the 2.4Ghz resulting in a very weak or non usable wifi signal. Simple math, WIFI N 450mbits at 50% power is 233mbits, WIFI AC 433mbits speed is zero if the signal can't make it to the device / pc
